📈 2021 work summary 🚀👩🏻‍🚀 - I left some dream cooperations 💔 mostly because I realized I have to move forward and learn something new. - I started working on various projects at Trustsoft, a remote-first company as I dreamt 💥 - I moved from the dedicated-servers world to the cloud world and much further. - I work daily in Linux (as I wanted, hurray!). 👩🏻‍🔧 - I analyzed 800+ log files to improve customers' experience when paying via a payment terminal. - I worked on AWS Migration Compliance for Trustsoft with Miroslav Kutil. - I worked on a Feasibility study about AWS Migration. I've created and adjusted documentation and did the proofreading. ☀️ - I understood better what works perfectly for me from the work-life balance. - I will never come back to the office https://lnkd.in/e6YkUBYr - I worked all year remotely and influenced some people to rethink their conditions too! - Besides remote work, I also work async most of the time. Time flexibility allows me to live even more to the fullest. Thank you, Lukas Pour 🚀 AWS Cloud Architect, for this opportunity. - Thanks to the remote cooperation, I stayed 1/2 year in Georgian country, and the rest of the year, I mainly traveled around Mediterranee. I visited dozens of beautiful places and spent much time in nature and outside in general. 🌎 Not only does it provide new perspectives on life and self-growth, but it also positively affects my work efficiency. 2022, await me 🚀 I'm starting working on my educational project and have even more ideas I plan to implement. What were your achievements this year? Any takeaways or anything you want to work at next year? I cannot wait for your inspiration in the comments! #reflection #2021goals #2021year #linux #aws #thankyou #keepgoing

I'm doing a little reflection on what university and high school studies gave me and would love to hear you too! Personally, the only valuable thing from the schooling was the language knowledge. Yet, the schools were not motivating me in learning (rather opposite). However, since I was studying a French Lycee, I admit that I have learned some French there :) On the other hand, I speak fluently Russian, which I learned myself alone in no time (compared to the studies) on a much better level. Sadly, these institutions taught me rather worse than better (for example writing patterns where more words seem to have more value, despite it's exactly the opposite). However, I can imagine that the best schools may give you some really valuable contacts (I think I can find more efficient ways for this though than spending 3+ years at some outdated informational institute). I'd love to hear about your experience if you have a spare minute! Have some of you got valuable knowledge at school? What was it? Are you still using it? On a bright note, I hope there was at least one tutor who inspired you to learn. 🙏🏻 #education #experience #polltime #learning #university #studies

How your flexible working day can look like? 08 AM - 🛏 Wake up in a different time zone (05 AM at your working time zone) 08.15 AM - 🧘🏻‍♀️ Yoga & Meditation 09 AM - 👩🏻‍💻 Breakfast, work e-mail & Slack check 10 AM - 🌊 Swimming at the seaside Noon - 👩🏻‍💻 Three deep-work hours + lunch delivery 03 PM - 🏙 Walk around the city, museum visit 05 PM - 👩🏻‍💻 Four deep-work hours 09 PM - 💃🏻 Late night dinner & networking event Midnight - 🛏 Sleep Repeat 😋 Days have just 24 hours. I hate it too. That's why I strive to spend my time on meaningful activities, that exclude useless commuting and stereotype. I am crazily grateful for the flexibility I have. It helps me to recharge regularly. This is the work-life balance for me. When I work, I work. Deep-work time, focused. When I recharge, I do it fully to be able to do my work on 100%. Ask your people what they do in their free time. If they are exhausted and they don't have enough time to recharge, how can you expect their best? Thanks to everyone offering remote work. It changed my life. #remotework #workfromanywhere #workfromhome #remotejob # #worklifebalance

Networking events as a source of connection, inspiration, and new contacts 😊 Before, I was never much into networking. I didn't quite understand much why should I go to an event where everyone tries to present themselves. I thought that it's just a pointless show-off. Over time, I've changed my mind. I'm happy to enjoy networking events. From my perspective the older we get, the harder it is to find new like-minded people, whether it be our future friends, colleagues, or clients. Especially informal networking events such as this breakfast in Tbilisi, which was held only in Russian, are a great opportunity to meet new people and get a new point of view on other professions. I love to seek new possibilities of how to connect or to get a new insight or perspective on a different field, or problem I might be resolving the wrong way. It doesn't matter if you meet a student, stylist, photographer, IT geek, or event manager. I believe we all have so much to learn from each other. That's why I also believe in the transition from one field to another. Speaking from my personal experience, taking what you've learned elsewhere to a new working area can be an eye-opening benefit for everyone cooperating with you. This transition is a very painful process. Yet, I believe it's worth not giving up. Are you visiting the networking events? Do you prefer large events or rather small personal events where everyone gets enough space to share their experience? What was the best networking event you've ever visited? Cannot wait for your insights! #networking #meetups #sharing #sharingiscaring #experience #careertransitions

Super tipy! Já bych asi ještě přidala komunikaci zaměstnanců a PR aktivity. :)

Why I'll never go back to the office? 👉 Because I can recharge more regularly than just twice a year for holidays. Thanks to the flexibility I can go anywhere in the world (sending greetings from Dubai 👋) and work in the morning and evening while exploring the city during the day. Sounds like a dream? Make it happen. 👉 Because my work can be performed online and I'm more productive and uninterrupted at ‘home’. After almost two years at home with the companies growing while having the teams online, I don't understand why going back. #sorrynotsorry 👉 Because this gives me more flexibility to LIVE. I'm the same hardworker as I've ever been, but I'm more productive than ever before. I know I’ve improved my endurance thanks to knowing when to say no, spending more time on my hobbies and activities that boost my mood and energy level and since I've learnt to recharge. This is a real work-life balance and it is not a buzzword. I know EXACTLY why I require remote work for anything I do. I know what I love, what I need, and what makes me the best version of myself. This is my huge THANK YOU to all companies offering remote cooperation to their people. And other thanks come to those requiring remote work conditions. This is the new normal. Welcome. #remotework #dubai #remoteworking #digitalnomad

End-point security awareness in 2021 - that's how I'd called today's webinar organized by AEC. Good job, David Pecl & Maroš Barabas! 👏🏻 Clearly explained key terms from attack surface to EDR, 👏🏻 Bringing the end-point security topic to the current circumstances (covid-19 - home-office and foreign employees solutions), 👏🏻 Introducing main threats concerning end-point security that we might run into these days. I'm happy about the activities of the security-as-a-service companies in my home country. There's plenty of content in English, but I am sure that all these efforts will pay off by bringing security awareness to more people. Do you have such events in your home country or are you checking just English or other content? I'm actually very curious about it! How does it work in other countries all around the world? Share your experience if you have a minute 😊 #security #securitymanagement #socanalyst #endpointsecurity #securityawareness

'Can you explain what are you doing?' my grandpa asked me. 🤯🙈 'Ehm, sure... -' 'And how come you can travel and you're not in the office?' 'Well, granny, a lot of work can be done on the computer today. And it's portable. Also, the internet is working at most places. Thanks to this you can work in many places all around the world while communicating with your colleagues online.' 'Oh, we couldn't do this before. And what are you doing on your computer then?' Uh... This one was difficult. 😄👇🏻 I am analyzing and investigating data from the terminal transactions (when someone pays by card in a shop). I am checking if there is any problem that we could fix. Also, we are monitoring potential problems. Our team advises what could be monitored or how we can improve the monitoring. This helps to prevent the issues or to be aware of a problem on time. All this will help customers all over the world to have a better experience when paying with their card. 🚀 How would you explain to your grandparents what are you doing? I cannot wait to hear you! 👇🏻 P.S. Happy to be on the way. Just enjoying the sea coast views.

Are you also that bad with updating your profile? 😄 I've been already sharing a slight update - a little self-reflection a few weeks ago. Yet, when I look at it again - I am SO grateful! I really loved my previous work, but I needed some more space to grow. Sometimes there's not a better way than to go and search for something else. Key getaways from the past months: - time & place flexibility are real benefits - you'll never know everything and it's all right - dedicated servers were great, but understanding the cloud is the new writing and reading skill - never shy away from trying new things and entering a new field - you can learn A LOT if you want to - NEVER stop Happy to join the remote-first team! I feel so free and satisfied. What makes you happy at work? What does a balance mean for you? Are your colleagues more human too? 😊 P.S. We're still hiring DevOps professionals.

🚴‍♂️🕰ZPOMALIT. ZASTAVIT. To přeci zvládnu. Dneska na jógu nepřijdu. Fotbal?!

'When you have 1% taxes in Georgia, can I just come, ask for the same and go back without living over there?' TL;DR Most likely NOT. (Logically you can, but it won't be legal) Yes, you can have a company somewhere else, but this topic is very complex. You still should get the cash from the company to you which should be taxed somehow, right? What I want to cover today is what most freelancers or contractors are dealing with. If you're thinking of moving elsewhere and thinking about your tax residency, you should know about what DOMICILE is. What is usually considered as a domicile: - passport or a citizen of the country - bank accounts in the country - owning a property in the country - living in the country for a long time and your ties can be proven - family in the country What to do if you want to be a tax resident of a particular country? - check the country conditions when they consider you the tax resident (for many countries it's staying for 183 days and more) - check your permanent residency/citizenship conditions (Yes, there is really no simple to-do list) My example: - I still have a permanent residency in the Czech Republic (Central Europe, in the EU) - I am renting a flat in Tbilisi - I was traveling a lot without staying 183 + days in any country yet - I have a Small Business Status (freelance license) in Georgia country and I am paying taxes here. Georgia has a double taxation agreement with my country so I will get a paper for the Czech Financial Office that I am paying taxes there. Conclusion: - If I would spend less than 183 days in Georgia, the Czech Government could say that my domicile is in the CZ because I have a permanent residency there and I haven't spent more than 183 days in Georgia so I am not REQUIRED to pay taxes there. - I was planning to stay in Georgia for most of the year anyway because I love it here. However, once I spend > 183 days in the country, I will also have clear taxation proof. 🤯 I know, it's complicated and it took me a long time to understand how it all works. That's why I am trying to share the experience with you. Do you have a similar experience? Have you ever had any issues with this? Do you have your accountant for this or do you solve this on your own? (I do it on my own.) Every experience or thought is welcome! #taxes #experience #sharing #remotework #digitalnomad #domicile

I've decided to create a community for CZ 🇨🇿 / SK 🇸🇰 people curious about life in Georgia country 🇬🇪 A load of people who'd love to work remotely in Georgia is getting huge. That's why I've decided to share some tips and information with the others in a closed group. I wanted to create a supportive community of people who live in Georgia or are considering moving there or working remotely from there for some time. Feel free to send a request to join the group. For the beginning, I've created a couple of unique posts in my native language (Czech). https://lnkd.in/d-FMwUBE Georgia is a very inspiring country and I'm thrilled to share my experience with other like-minded travelers with similar backgrounds and roots. 🙏🏻 The country has so much to offer! 🎉 A real offline event! 🎉 I'm SO GLAD I made it to the Crypto Community Meetup in Tbilisi by Crypto Traders International organized by Pierre Martinow yesterday! It was inspiring to see other people based here in Georgia talking about their ideas and businesses. The crypto and expat community was so welcoming! Finally, after months at home, I felt like part of something. I was not alone! I cannot express my gratefulness and happiness enough. 🙏🏻 Also, we were very lucky with an inspiring speech. 🔝 Pavol Luptak was attending the meetup and had a little presentation! He is behind many cyber/hacking and freedom-related projects. He is one of the people behind Paralelní Polis - a community place with bitcoin payments that is expanding to many countries worldwide. Besides, he also specializes in helping people to get a better life or tax conditions (see https://liberation.travel ). It's amazing to be surrounded by new people and to get another life perspective. 🙏🏻 Cannot wait for more events. Online is the future. Yet, the networking is just more practical face-to-face 😊 Have you been already visitin some events this year? Which ones? Did you like it? Have you noticed any differences? #event #cryptocommunity #community #networking

I've been told that my profile looks too good to be real. Is it fake? Who am I? 🤖 "I don't know anyone else who lives that much what they want as you do." once my friend said. I am surrounded by like-minded people so much that I forgot that for most people all this is sci-fi. For me, all this content is not anything else than clear self-expression. I feel so natural and myself here. I'm grateful for every reaction, for every new person I meet. For everyone who shares his story, insight, and tips (do it more often, PLEASE). I am so glad that I can get so much inspiration here and express myself the way I am. #linkedinrocks I was always hardworking. I could not do work I do not like. I was always talking about work, my vision, dreams. And then I've realized that this is the place to share all these because apparently, I can get a much better understanding than from some of my friends who live their own life. It's different from mine. It helps me to get in touch with people who have a similar story. It helps me to inspire people who would love to live similarly. I'm grateful for all of these. So yes, this is me. And I'm glad that it can be too good to be real for some people. It's amazing for me the way it is and I hope it's gonna be even better. I am ambitious. I am stubborn. I will never follow other's expectations but mine. And this is how I live now. I live the dream I've always wanted. I know the time to think of what's the next dream of mine, is now. I cannot wait for all these. I am grateful to everyone who inspired me. And I wish you found such people around you too. I wish more people were happy about their lives. To accept that their life is their responsibility and it's them who should make them amazing. No one else will do it for you. Make it too good to be real ✨💫 Have an amazing week! P.S. All the photos I share are really mine or of myself. #inspiration #work #life #content #linkedin

What's not good about constant travel when working remotely? 🧐🏝🌎 Tell me who wouldn't love to travel the world and work at the same time? Go to the beach because you can and want to, visit the mountains the other day, from Dubai to Canary Islands it must be AMAZING! You might think I had an accident when I wrote this. There are always pros and cons I think you should be aware of. Today, I want to talk about what's not good about traveling while working remotely. (You still can work remotely at the beach and just stay there, no worries :D.) 1️⃣ There's no stereotype. Yes, I hate a stereotypic lifestyle, but it helps you to create routines. Where did the workouts go? Daily meditations? Create a new habit while on travels can be more difficult. 2️⃣ You will miss your base (home) if you have any. Someone maybe for the first time in their life (me) will realize they miss the stability their home provides them. It's not just about habits, but about feeling safe and comfortable. On the other hand - when you're constantly outside of the comfort zone, it gets harder to get outside of it. 😄 But anyway, you want comfort, sometimes, at least. 3️⃣ You must constantly search for new places. It's tiring. Where to buy a new charger? Who's the best coiffeur in the city to go to? Is there any dentist? Where's the nearest market? Yes, it's exciting at first, but when you do this every two weeks - meh. Where will you stay tomorrow? What are the conditions to enter that country? 😣 💰You can notice I haven't mentioned that it can be pricy. The reason is simple - it doesn't have to be expensive if you arrange everything yourself. You can travel the world and spend less than in your home place (seriously). Would you mind about these cons or you do not care? What do you think is the best combination? Would you travel that quickly or you'd prefer to stay at the new place for a few months? 📸 It's me at the waterfall next to Stepantsminda, Georgia 🇬🇪 #travel #work #digitalnomadlifestyle #digitalnomad #digitalnomadlife #digitalnomadhints #hints #hintsandtips #traveltheworld #workandtravel #workanywhere

🇬🇪 vs. 🇨🇿 🇪🇺 I don't want to compare the developing country with a European country, but I have to. 😄 🧐' Why I am submitting my taxes online in a minute in Georgia and I needed an accountant in the Czech Republic for it? I didn't understand what to submit, it was too complicated.' I was asking my friend. 💡 'They don't have to rely on old practices or bureaucracy.' my friend who lives in Canada replied. In Georgia 🇬🇪: ✔️ You open a bank account in 5 minutes (!). ✔️ You can benefit from 1 % taxation even when you don't have local residency. The process is very easy. (can be even 0% in some cases) ✔️ You submit your taxes within 1 minute - you fill out how much you gained in the last month and how much it is from the beginning of the year. You confirm it and that's it. The whole process is done online. ✔️ If you have problems, you can contact the government via phone, email, or video calls. Also, there are video tutorials (sadly in Georgian, but the process is overall easy). (I've also offered my free volunteering assistance with the translation of the transcript and timing, but I didn't get in touch with the right team obviously). ✔️ You can benefit from a visa-free agreement between Georgia and 100 + countries for ONE YEAR. After that, you must leave the country to renew this period (no limitations). Well done, Georgia Revenue Service • შემოსავლების სამსახური and Georgia Center of Innovation 👏🏻 You made this welcoming country and mentality even better for people from abroad. #21stcentury #digitalgovernment #innovation #taxes
Samuela Davidová 2021-10-03
In Georgia, most government applications (most things are done online here) are 'secured' with an MFA via SMS (additionally to the strong password). I was curious about why SMS is actually NOT the best security - I found this article helpful, may you do so. Personally, it was a real pain in the ass when I was traveling and had many eSIMs + physical SIM cards and had to change these all the time when I had to get into personal banking or to pay taxes. What are your thoughts? What MFA are you using in your company or to secure your clients? #authentication #security #mfa

What I think holds us back when we want to work remotely abroad (and how to handle it)? 🌎🏝 It looks beautiful, but I won't lie. It was not an easy decision. You need a lot of bravery and being a bit foolish. 'Let's buy a one-way ticket and see how it goes.' is just not an easy decision for most people. I was overthinking it SO much. I had many struggles and worries, but I tried not thinking about it and just make the first step. Let me go through the most general worries and how to handle these like a master. 1️⃣ FOMO - events & friends - Events in your place almost disappeared in the last two years which made it easier. However, they are abroad too, just different ones :) Yet, we're worried we won't be connected with our friends. Thankfully we can be connected 24/7 these days. I think I even feel more in touch with them (despite online) because we share an update more often. Also, meeting new people in a new country is always eye-opening. (Plus: I think people started being more interested because they’re curious or inspired by your steps.) 2️⃣ Unknown - Yes, it's MUCH easier to stay in a home country. A language barrier, known places, you have tons of people to call to anytime (really, or you just think you do?)... Look, this step will surely change your life (in a good way). It will make you stronger, more flexible, and adaptable, which is a great skill for work and life in general. 🚀 3️⃣ Lack of information - I KNOW how it feels. I made the first research about the conditions in the first 48 hours, which was very brief. However, I didn't know everything at all. Even after arrival, I was confused. I had no clue where to buy a blender, charger, or to find a good dentist. Tips: Find related FB groups and local expat communities. Search first, and ask, they will be happy to help. People there were in the same situation as you are. Check nomadlist.com for a brief overview to get an idea and see some local expat recommendations and blogs. Overall - more remote work options mean real opportunities to travel the world or to move to the country you always were curious about. I've learned SO much about people, different cultures, and myself in the past 11 months! This lifestyle changed so much about my life and career. I've read an amazing quote lately: Traveling shows us what we haven't thought of we could search for. Do you agree? 😊 Is there anything else I forgot? What you're / you'd been afraid of? Have you ever been thinking about moving abroad and work remotely? 📸 by the horse owner in Stepantsminda, Kazbegi region in Georgia 🇬🇪 (Caucasus mountains) #remotework #wfh #workfromanywhere #traveladdict #explore #remoteworking #remoteteam #opportunities
Samuela Davidová 2021-10-02
How did I decide to work remotely and what first steps do I recommend? For a long time, people thought that those working at home are not working. (Do you remember that time before covid?) You all love those beach photos with a person working on his notebook. Honestly, I'm not taking my computer to the beach because I don't want sand to get into it (lol). I don't think beach work is a reality for most people working remotely. On the other hand - it made a good marketing job for remote work. We all thought that people working abroad on contract or as freelancers are doing some pyramid scheme work only. It sounded just TOO GOOD to be real. I was working at home for more than half a year. I was sick of the same walls, walking the same streets, and stereotypes I hate both at work and in life. Then, I've realized that I worked as a contractor for two companies and that all my goals can be fulfilled anywhere in the world. Online. I just take my computer with me. That's it. The first point was the idea that it can be done. I know it sounds easy but actually, it took me a while. And I've done it! I started with my research which took just about two days. I gave notice in the apartment, bought a one-way ticket, and left. It was about two or three weeks from when the idea appeared. Honestly, it was the best decision I've ever made! (It was NOT easy, but it's something I want to cover next time.) I mean - if you sit at home and you're not required physically in the office, shop, or storehouse, you can do it too! ✏️What to do: - Check your working conditions. Check the possible taxation adjustments (especially if you plan to stay somewhere for more than 6 months). Search for a double-taxation agreement with your country. - Think of where you want to go. You don't have to stay in one place. Wanted to travel the world? Check the conditions and you can go tomorrow. Seriously. - Find local (destination country) expat community for more support and answers. So far, I've met with very welcoming communities across countries. - Search for relevant information but don't expect you'll ever know everything. Partially, it's also about getting outside of the comfort zone. Enjoy the process, it makes you stronger. - Here you are. Enjoy a new environment every day and exploration of new places and yourself 😊. What would you recommend to someone considering moving abroad with remote or freelance work? Are there any particular questions you have? I'll do my best to answer them! 📸 It's me close to Mestia, Svaneti region, Georgia. Thanks to the flexibility my work provides I could work in the evenings and explore the mountains during the day. #remotework #digitalnomad #livewhatyouwant #retreatyourself #happiness #remoteworking #travel

A home office is NOT remote work. Please stop this confusion. When you tell someone they can work remotely but ACTUALLY, they have to go to the office once or two times a week, it's not remote work. Remote work means I can work in Istanbul whenever I want to, then go to the seaside of Antalya because I missed it, and then to Georgia because I'd love to hike the mountains. Home office means I work in between those four walls I know very well and that you require me to come to the office sometimes. Yes, I know you want it even I was at home for more than a year and a half. That's OK, some companies want it this way, let's respect it the same way we were respecting school requirements. (Do not ask me what I think about it) If you do not offer any of these perks, it means you will have a hard time searching for new people. And surprise! There's the internet in Sicily, Portugal, Canary Islands, Georgia, Ukraine, Turkey, France, Austria, or Cyprus. I could name it all but I think you got the point. No one notices the difference unless I talk about my travels. (Except for my mountain trip where I had internet problems, I confess. Resolved with a hotspot in about two minutes.) 📸 Me in Istanbul. Enjoying the view of the Galata Tower. Amazing 15 million people city with bad taxi service. #remotework #homeoffice #wfh #benefits

2019: We cannot provide you the materials online. An email? Oh, send me a fax or a carrier pigeon. 2020: Send me an email. The materials are in the internal school system, obviously, online. 2021: We cannot provide you the materials online. An email? Oh, send me a fax or a carrier pigeon. Could we please get into the 21st century in the education field? Could professors stop wasting their time and become a really respected persona and a mentor instead? Look, requiring respect doesn't work. Build it with your behavior. I know. So many questions. Do I really want that much? Sadly, over the last one week (first week) I met with so much ignorance and arrogance that I felt like if I was at the high school again. This is NOT about the law requirements, it's about people. If you are interested in the field and topic as a student (obviously, otherwise I wouldn't study it), you're: a. weird b. unnecessary c. annoying d. time-consuming (hint: choose everything that applies). All right. And the last question for 100 pt: Why do cybersecurity positions require a degree? I am awaiting your answers. #education #university

It's been three months since I started a new job 🤩 I will be sharing it officially soon, however, it's time for some self-reflection first. I've realized it's important to self-reflect a bit be well aware of my career progress. I don't want to get stuck in something that doesn't bring me joy or new knowledge. 🚀 👉🏻What I'm doing now? I have a more general role at TrustSoft. I could group it into an IT Analyst role & Compliance / Documentation one. We're a remote-first company which I totally love. (and, we're hiring - DM me for more info 📩) Currently, I'm working on a log analysis for a client with compliance to the PCI DSS (a security standard for Payment Card Industry). The aim is to improve the monitoring and to fix mainly infrastructural issues. I am investigating the logs and requesting the debug from the devs. 👉🏻What I've already done? - I worked on AWS compliance documentation for our company (successfully). I've learned a lot about project management, cloud migration, AWS tools, security, and architecture. - I helped the team with the migration feasibility study for a client with high-security standards. 👉🏻What the team taught me? - Ansible basics & Networking insight by my senior colleague Lukáš Bayer, thank you! - Zabbix monitoring basics & Linux tips by Marek Samec - No one in IT knows everything. Ask & Share. 👉🏻What I've learned in the past 3 months? - Understood the importance of compliance, improved my compliance documentation skills and research skills. - Dived into the AWS world, including the security topics. - Learned more about the architecture perspective. I had a chance to get an insight into more companies thanks to various projects. 👉🏻What I'd love to improve next (work-related)? - AWS understanding. I'd like to improve my knowledge and get some certification. - Linux skills. By continuous work in Linux and by additional courses, I'd love to boost my skills to feel even more confident in it. Thank you for the opportunity, Lukas Pour 🚀 AWS Cloud Architect! After deciding for a long time, I went with this opportunity. It's not directly a security role as I wanted, but it helps me to understand more tools and IT in general. Well played :) P.S. Ironically, the photo is from the office that I visited for about two hours. It was nice to meet my colleagues in person! #security #cloud #compliance #aws #work #job #reflection

🏫 A new semester begins! 🏫 I'm proud to continue with my studies in Information/IT Management at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics at Prague University of Economics and Business! I've decided on this program because I wanted to see IT from the business point of view. I wanted both technical and business insights. There was not anything better than this program in my country and I strive for the best :) I love the focus on IT & Security management. School is great - I'm glad I could try various projects such as risk management case study, penetration testing, or attending a Security Week with a focus on defensive security. It helps me to understand what I want and don't want to do in the future. The courses are kept up-to-date with the industry making it very beneficial. My second specialization is focused on Artificial intelligence & Data Mining. I was just curious about it, I don't think that it's something I'd love to do one day. However, where else to find out more about it than at school? It's been a great (and tough) lesson so far! What awaits me this semester: ✏️ Digital Forensic Analysis (I cannot wait for this one!) ✏️ IT Financial Management ✏️ Cognitive Science ✏️ New Media and Social Network Services ✏️ Project Governance I know you can do IT without university. Most of these things could be taught on-hands at work. However, I'm grateful for getting another perspective on the field and trying things out before entering some particular role. What's your opinion about universities? Was it useful for you? Were there any interesting courses or professors who influenced your future? #cybersecurity #university #education

I've always been a crazy workaholic. I believed that I show my dedication when being available 24/7, replying to messages even at night, and asking for additional work all the time. I had a hard time understanding when I had enough work, which led to overworking, stress, and pre-deadline mess. I've realized that it's not what we're asked for. No one wants you to work nonstop and to be available all the time. (And if they do, then leave - NOW). Who needs you the most is yourself. If you want to deliver outstanding results, you also MUST recharge accordingly. Value your time and strive for efficiency. I've realized I work great in 'extremes' - I do my BEST while being fully focused at work. The more I must disconnect to completely recharge on the weekend or even after work as best. This took me years to realize. If I could send myself any idea a few years back, this would definitely be the one. Thanks again to Vladimir Dolejs for the mentoring and the idea of persistence. Vladimir knows me well and knew that I put everything from myself into the project and then I died for a few weeks 😄 I am proud of my results back then but I was exhausted. The lifestyle when I was running on 150% nonstop was not sustainable. It's time to make it better and I 'work hard' on it. :) Sending greetings from a beautiful weekend getaway to Georgian nature. How are you recharging yourself? 🔋 📸 me - 📍Gudairi, Georgia #work #recharge #balance #efficiency #productivity #growth

🧐 This is actually an interesting topic. I have a clear answer - I love smaller companies, preferably when they are growing. It's different. The positions are often vague. You get easily an opportunity to try other new things. You can see the bigger picture of the company pretty fast. You understand what people around you are doing. Also, you have much higher responsibilities. Often, you don't have to explain yourself to ten people before you get approval to do something. Yes, feel free to brainstorm, but it's much easier to do things and to implement your own ideas. Yes, if you're creative and want to improve the product, you can have a direct impact on it. (I LOVE THIS!) I'd also say, that customers can more likely work directly with your own work. You see you have an impact. On the other hand - I've never tried work in a larger company :) What are your thoughts? 👇🏻

Even the little steps matter. 🙏🏻 I've been hard on myself and I was constantly underestimating myself. It's hard to gain confidence in the cybersecurity field because of its complexity. However, the holidays are over and I am back to keep improving. I believe taking little steps counts and is better than nothing. For today, I run into this easy lab on acloud.guru / Linux Academy combining easy commands that can improve the orientation in architecture and understanding of the bigger picture. A little pleasure to take the baby steps again. 😉 I'll try to get more hands-on experience, because I went through a lot of theory, but without any result. When you're not using it, you're forgetting it. Simple as that. Glad that at least at work I'm using CLI on a daily basis, making it much more comfortable. What are your favorite hands-on labs? 😊 #cybersecurity #linux #experience #education

What are the best locations I worked from 👩🏻‍💻 Today, you can easily work from anywhere. However, some places are simply better than others. As my friend once told me - life is too short to be spent on a bad beach, right? 🌊 There are interesting projects I totally recommend exploring if you consider working from another location. For example search for Nomad List. You can find an ideal place for yourself based on your preferences. My personal list is totally subjective, however, you might consider these places that I recommend for remote work: ☀️Lisboa, Portugal - Totally beautiful capital city with huge diversity. It's very green with many parks and lovely botanical gardens. Many people speak English too. It's very cultural, I believe you'd had a full to-discover list for the whole month. 🌊Istanbul, Turkey - Another huge capital. People do not speak English that much, but they are used to using a translator. The food availability is great and I totally love using the boats as the public transport. Overall it's very interesting and cultural. 🏔Tbilisi, Georgia - Another beautiful capital that lays in the Caucasus. If you love both beaches and mountains, definitely consider going to Georgia. What's very beneficial is that most nations can enter the country for the whole ONE YEAR with no visa requirements. Georgia has an amazing history, culture, architecture, food (!), wine, nature and it's incredibly cheap for what you get. What are the best places you worked from? I'll be looking forward to your recommendations! 📸 Photo was taken on the boat in Istanbul. #remotework #workfromanywhere #workandtravel #bestplacetowork
Samuela Davidová 2021-09-07
Remote work does NOT mean work from home. People think that by remote work, you get stuck at home in between the four walls of your apartment 24/7. You will not leave the house. The time will pass and *bang* you're 70 and go to the pension. You haven't seen anything, you were not socialized and you felt alone. Aha. You're totally wrong. 😄 So, just a few facts: 👉🏻 Your notebook is portable. 👉🏻 The internet is working not only in your home or office but also in the Georgian mountains, Turkish 15 million capital or on the beach in the Canary Islands. I swear. 👉🏻 The travels are not necessarily more expensive than your stereotyped lifestyle. When I finish my work, I go to the pool or the beach. Usually, I'm every two weeks in a different place in another country. Traveling to different locations expands my thoughts, improves my focus and drive. I feel much more motivated because I love my environment and everything I do. This is very crucial. Many people are unhappy in the circumstances they are which is demotivating for them. Fortunately, you can rethink your conditions too. I will be happy for your thoughts. 📸 I took the photo this weekend. I rented a bike and went to the Turkish nature. #remotework #workfromhome #workfromanywhere #workandtravel #flexibility #environment
Samuela Davidová 2021-09-07
Oh, I love this list. ☺️ For me, diversity at work means hearing different opinions. You don't wanna work with your mirror. If you want to improve yourself, the team, and the company, I believe that it's important to have constantly new insights. And, I think asking questions can be even more important than just giving answers 🚀 What are your take-aways? Do you have exceptional people? #culture #diversity
Samuela Davidová 2021-09-06
It's SO important! Also, you should be counting how much you provide for your salary. Is it just those 8 hours of work a day, or you spent another 2 hours commuting, having less time for yourself and hobbies? Are you on-call? Are you stressed? How many responsibilities do you have? I haven't been thinking this way before, but we're often investing a lot. 🙏

Why we don't discuss responsibility here? 💪🏻 It's such an essential part of the work. Responsibility can be stressful, but also very motivating. I find work with higher responsibility often more meaningful and needed. That means I feel needed too 😉 Isn't this the way you want to feel at work? However, at some companies, you must ask for approval or check for everything you want to do. I believe it's not efficient, nor effective, it's time-consuming and can be even pretty degrading. It reminds me of a time back in high school when you're 'managed' by the teacher. Once you get to the university, you care about your studies yourself. You're no one unless you work hard, you're curious and interested. (Why should the professors even care if you are not?) I believe this approach is more respectful, but it's not for everyone. For me, responsibility means to be truly an adult. Accepting responsibility for our actions means we're brave and self-aware. We're ready to accept our mistakes and learn from them. We're ready to face both success and failures. We're ready to take action. Yes, it might be comfortable to sit in the warm place all day and spend time waiting for someone's approval, while being paid. I prefer doing things. Asking for approval just when it's relevant. Or even better, asking for relevant consultation. How much responsibility do you have in your position? Can you make a decision yourself? #decisionmaking #responsibility #respect

Off-topic Cash 💸 We all care about it so much but we don't talk about it.🤭 Time to speak up. Please, stop offering IT roles for a funny minimum when in the supermarket you can get 2000$ for half requirements. 😒 People spend hours at night to boost their knowledge in IT. It's a constantly evolving industry. We must stay up to date. We usually have a huge responsibility. How much money will that particular worker make/save for you? You can see and count that work. Stop offering ridiculous salaries.😤 Companies in the Czech Republic are complaining about not having enough staff, but they often offer less than what you get as a tram driver.😄 Sorry, but especially when you see the costly hiring ads everywhere, it makes me laugh. When you provide at least an estimate of how much are you ready to offer, you'll save your precious hours (and of the candidates). 😏 What are your thoughts and experience? 👇 #salary #money

We often talk about the role of women in today's society. However, men don't have it easy either. 💔 'This is further compounded by the fact that girls have been taught how to evolve into both traditionally male and female roles, but boys have no role models to teach them how to evolve into both roles either: and when they fail at the traditional male role, as they increasingly go, they are left in the shit.' I'm just reading the summary of Zimbardo's book Man Disconnected. It is providing a great perspective on the current society. I strive to understand the world around me better and sociology provides just that. That's what I love about it (and I definitely recommend everyone to check this too). 👇🏻 What do you think about the current roles? #sociology

Asynchronous communication is still a dream for me. There are those syncs and meetings at 9 AM and 10 AM and then someone calls you at 3 PM or who even knows. You're expected to be available from 9 to 5 😏 Yeah... Which time zone is it anyway? 🌎 So, when should I wake up tomorrow? Where am I? Oh, Turkey, so it's gonna be 10 AM, right? *sighs* Oh, life was beautiful with full freelancing. I was preparing everything for huge events, sending the press releases sometime between 8 AM and 2 PM CEST, which was easily doable, and everything was chilled. It was hard for time management, but it's just another skill you need. Go for it. Why promoting asynchronous communication? Well... Where's my deep work? Can I really work deeply with that meeting starting in 10 minutes, five other notifications from work, and a colleague calling you because believes it's faster and more efficient? Oh, it's not. 🤯 Are you working asynchronously? Share your experience 💪🏻👇🏻 #asynchronous #remotework

'There will be 1 billion digital nomads by 2035' Wrote Pieter Levels, founder of nomadlist.com back in 2015. I don't believe it was seen doable by that time. However, over the last year, the conditions changed for most people. Many people were working from home. It seemed like a miracle - companies were adjusting the conditions in a few days. All those jobs where you never had a home office before, you were performing at home for over the last year and a half. 😄 😏 (And the companies kept growing 📈) Now - I don't know how you imagine a digital nomad. (share in the comments 👇🏻) For me, it's mainly about rethinking your current state. You can work from home? Great. How about taking your work with you and going for a month to Spain? Italy? Greece? Georgia? Costa Rica? You name it. 🏝 Yes, you can be anywhere in the world. Performing the same work. Wow. Sorry, but no, you won't sell me your newly renovated office environment. I believe more people will understand this and will be asking for the adjustment of their conditions. And yes, I think, that by 2035 (which is incredibly far from today's perspective when everything changes so fast), there will be 1 billion digital nomads. 🚀 Maybe, we'll have more co-working places for socializing and networking. Maybe, the offices will serve rather for the community, than just work. However, I do not believe most work will require the offices we know today. I recommend reading the whole article to understand all the influences. #digitalnomad #futureofwork #flexibleworking

Every year I stop for a while and make a little reflection on my life.🧎‍♀️ I make this two times a year - at the end of the year and on my birthday in August. I'm asking myself various questions to find out what I want next. This time, it takes weeks to answer. I surpassed the goals from the last year pretty quickly. 😁 No matter what I write, it always goes differently from what I imagined or planned. I think it's fine as long as you're flexible enough. 🚀 However, I realize that knowing what one wants, to have a clear vision can be game-changing. No vision > no path > no clear progress in the right direction > no fulfillment (and I could continue here). Also, the only limit is our imagination 💡 Share the way you track your goals and vision. What inspires you the most? How do you find out what you want next? I'm looking forward to hearing from you 👇

Career bucket list 💡 This is a good idea for your future planning. The article provides a great inspiration. Personally, I rather focus on the fields/positions I want to get into and technical and soft skills when creating my bucket list. 🚀 I list all the technologies I want to understand and what person I want to become at work. 💪🏻 My friend also told me a great idea: 'It's better to plan and seek areas where you can imagine a progress even in 10 years.' That's so true! And I am on my way 🚀 My overall bucket list is distinguished in the following areas 👇🏻 ➡️ personal goals ➡️ travel goals ➡️ business goals ➡️ lifestyle goals ➡️ fitness & health goals Do you have your bucket list? What do you list among your professional goals? I want to hear you 👇🏻 #careers #careerplanning #bucketlist #inspiration #future

❓How to find work that can be performed online? People started asking me what job can be done remotely and how to find it. That’s a fair question. I don't have a clear answer for this. No one has. Many jobs can be done online. 🚀 I think there are three categories of jobs: 👩🏻‍💼Requires presence - You cannot work as a cashier or security guard remotely. You may think of a few more. 👩🏻‍💻Hybrid - For example in Public Relations you can write press releases online and communicate online, but you usually have to come for the press conferences. The same comes for Event Management and some others. 🏡Remote - Theoretically all the remaining positions 💡(from IT to the copyrighting, you name it) BUT Some companies simply require your presence and you cannot do much about it. 👉🏻 What I suggest to do 👈🏻 1️⃣ Think about your current experience and career. Find positions that you believe can be performed online. 2️⃣ Do your research. Check the positions openings you listed and which companies offer remote work. Apply accordingly. 3️⃣ Check also the companies in your country / continent / anywhere in the world (depending on your seniority) that are remote-first. Check their openings. If nothing relevant is available, try to contact them directly if they are planning to open something related to your specialization. These companies usually have a specific culture that is open to remote work. It's mostly worth it to make that extra job. ❗️What to remember❗️ 👉🏻 Be direct and honest. If you want to work remotely and it's important for you, mention it at the beginning. Maybe the offer was not 100% clear and if doesn't meet the expectations of both sides, it's a waste of time. Go for what you want, it exists elsewhere 😉 👉🏻 If you plan to work remotely & travel, think about the tax requirements. Usually, you're required to pay taxes in the country when you spend there 6+ months. This can be, however, very beneficial. For example in Georgia, we talk about 1% taxation. 👉🏻 Do not give it up. You can enter an on-site role now and potentially move to remote freelancing over time. This is just one of the thousands of ideas. Share your ideas and insights in the comments👇🏻 Feel free to share if you think it can help someone 🚀 #jobhunt #remotework #workanywhere #workfromhome

Catch 22 - not working app 🤦🏻‍♀️ ‘Have someone been ever testing this?’ When I ask this question while using some app or product, it resonates with me for a long. I sometimes even wonder if it’s not a scam. Isn’t this the worst one can think about your application? So, are you really testing the user experience? 😏 I understand the pressure in the deployment process. But, do you improve the user experience later, or do you just let it live until a user requires it? 🙂 I attach the photo of a form on a huge panel that you can find in Istanbul. When you purchase the public transport card, you must register on that panel or the website first to start using the card (but you can hardly catch the internet, so you better use the panel). ✔️check you're a tourist ✔️fill out the required fields 🚫error: you didn't submit the phone number. 🧐but when you check the tourist field you cannot enter it + you don’t have a phone number ✔️ you check out the tourist field 🤬 the passport number disappears ✔️ you fill out a fake phone number ✔️ you fill out again the passport number  ✅ Finally you’re good to go (if the keyboard worked properly and you didn’t have to search for another panel 🤦🏻‍♀️) ➡️ Overall, 10 extra annoying minutes. Plus, I do not understand the purpose. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Why does a transport service need my passport number, name and number? You can also go anonymously for a higher price.💰 What do you think about this? I don't believe tracing potentially ill people is possible when it's not connected to the particular train or metro car. Anyway, the key message (besides privacy) is: Please, if not necessary, try your application first 🙏🏻 I could name hundreds of such experiences. #userexperience #testing

An interesting poll 💡 Why should we get a pay cut when we have higher at-home expenses when working from home? I do not understand this logic. What are your thoughts? 👇🏻 #workfromhome #remotework
Samuela Davidová 2021-08-19
I am sharing with you a very interesting survey from Stack Overflow Answers of 65.000 developers 👇🏻 When in search of a new job, people are interested in technologies they'll be working with, followed by the culture of the company. However, from my experience, I cannot always understand the culture of the company from the job post or the company careers page. How are you expressing the culture of your company? It's an important one. Besides, 33.3% of people find remote work options important. That's game-changing. That's a lot of people. 🤔 I am becoming more and more surrounded by people who work remotely and some of them think about working from abroad or already do so. It's a great opportunity to work and travel at the same time. Wouldn't you like to work from the seaside? These people won't take a step back when searching for a new job. Personally, it was one of the key factors for me when I left my previous work. I know it's not yet much popular in my home country. However, how can you explain the need to be in the office to someone, who's been working for more than a year from home? Anyway, there's much more to read. I recommend this interesting insight into the IT people's minds. #stackoverflow #survey #remotework

Would you take a salary cut to work from home permanently? So the salary cuts for work from home have started to creep in….. We are going to see a lot of churn over the next 12 months not to say like with most change there will be positives to come from it and I’ll certainly have a few questions around that. Let’s start with this one: #workfromhome #salarycut #salarydecrease #tirosecurity

🤝 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 🚀 Imagine you have to leave the project you're working on. You have an hour to provide your colleagues with all the materials you have. Or even worse - you got an accident and you cannot inform anyone about the project progress. 📄💣 How does it feel? Do you have everything documented and accessible? 😏 I'll be honest - I was not thinking this way before. I wanted to have everything under control myself. I didn't delegate tasks and I didn't think I should be explaining each step to someone else one day. Below, I provide a few tips that can improve not only the handover process but also boost asynchronous communication in your company. 🚀 Back at FAMU International, Jiří Fusek taught us how important it is to be able to promptly hand over the project at any phase of it. And I made use of it a few months later. Thanks for providing a better awareness about it at that time. 🙏🏻 💡However, I don't think it's a skill to master just by the project managers but 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀. Whether you're a developer or administrator, someone else should be able to take over your work straight away. Keep this on your mind when you work in a team. So, how to improve the handover process?👇🏻 1️⃣𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. Did you find an error? List the path, logs, and all useful information. You can always get back to it and save time (you cannot remember everything), and your colleagues can take over anytime if you publish it with the company. 2️⃣𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰. Do you have a Slack channel with your client? Keep the conversation there. Limit the direct conversation because it's not searchable and your colleagues don't know what was already discussed and what not. Stop acting like an individual when you work in a team.❗️ 3️⃣𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. It doesn't matter if you choose Google Drive, ClickUp, or any other tool your team prefers. However, keep it precise, clear, and in one place. If you have notes on your own device where no one can access them, they are useless for your team. Share things, but create a clear structure of the documentation for easy orientation. If you have files with confusing wording in a title and not separated in folders, no one can find what they're searching for, it's a pain. Is there anything else you suggest? Was there a situation when you had to take over or hand over a project? It happened to me several times. I am looking forward to you sharing your experience! #ideas #sharing #handover #takeover #project #projectmanagement #management #communication #organization

'The employee was considering remote work but decided to keep going to the office - despite the two-hour commute.' Really? 😄 I do not understand this 'logic' at all. The company saves $$$ on benefits like paying for the public transport. They save on their offices and the bills. They don't have to buy me coffee or snacks. Tables, chairs, whiteboards, pens... You name it. But in addition, they want people to feel worse by cutting their income? For working from home? If someone doesn't work as you require, you can always fire them. But it's NOT a question of WFH or from the office. You don't need people who are not good enough for your company. 🙏🏻 Thanks to those companies who want to keep their employees safe nowadays. To those who provide flexibility and understand that a real work-life-balance is not just a marketing term. I wouldn't like to work somewhere where I would be 'forced' to go to the office this way. You? #wfh #remotework #balance #income
Samuela Davidová 2021-08-10
Recruiters, do not promote work from home in the description if it's not real. 😐 👇🏻 🏡The opportunity to work from home or remotely should NOT be a question of marketing. If you promote it and the reality is different, don't do it at all. You don't have to explain yourself and your company. Some companies just have it that way. 🏢 Maybe the position is not 100% suitable for WFH, your management wants to see people sitting at the table, or the communication is not done well so you think that f2f will be better. That's all right. I am not here to judge this. 😌 📄 However, make it clear with the job offer. If someone applies for a job, hoping to discuss the WFH or remote cooperation, and on the last round you tell that you mentioned WFH for visibility, or that you offer one day per month to work from home, please, specify it in the description. ❗️There is a huge difference between whether I can work from anywhere in the world and going 19 out of 20 days a month to the office. 💡You know what would help a lot? Make it clear in the job description! Do you offer remote work? WFH several times a week? Do you insist people have to be in the office? This is an important thing that affects lives of your future co-workers. Save time to you and them. 🙏🏻

🌍Why am I promoting remote work? 🌍 Because it changed my life. It changed the way I look at things and problems. I know there's always a different way to try and it might be worth it. It's a mindset and lifestyle. It's something that affects your everyday experience in life and work. It broadens your horizons when you realize you can work from anywhere in the world and you really do it. 🛫This year, I've already visited 8 countries and more are coming. It's not just forming my personality, but it teaches me every day something new in all the areas.🛬 ➡️ I get to know new people, places, cultures, languages. ➡️ I explore new sightseeings, galleries, I create new memories every single day in a new environment. ➡️ I get out of my comfort zone. And I wish two things: - People to rethink their current conditions and happiness at work. - Companies to rethink their opportunities and work&life balance options. What are your insights about this? Can you work remotely? Do you think it's important? According to my poll, if people could choose between identical opportunities, no one would go with the one not offering both time & place opportunities. 💡 That's worth thinking about it if you're opening some roles. I attach a photo from this weekend - I was exploring the ocean life in Oceanário de Lisboa. I send you greetings from sunny Portugal 🌞 #remotework #futureofwork #people #work

🎥What are possible options to enter cybersecurity? Is it necessary to go directly into the field?🔐 How about volunteering? Maybe my opinion is not much popular, but what do you think about it? Is it fair to offer unpaid positions in this field? How can I study hard and then apply for an entry role requiring 3 years of experience? 🧐 I share also a bit about what I'm currently doing and why it makes sense to me 🚀 Cybersecurity is definitely not an easy field to get into 😐 Do you have other recommendations? 📣 I want to hear you. 📣 Imagine you have the same job offers for the same $$ (hypothetically). 💰 But each job has different work conditions in terms of flexibility. Why one would you choose? I think that such a work condition has a huge impact on our lives too. I am not here to blame anyone. I only wish people and companies to rethink their happiness, opportunities, and benefits. One of my previous polls showed that people at work with both flexible time and place felt less stressed. If we consider the impact on our productivity and happiness at work, it can be a real game-changer for some people and companies. If your people are not happy at work, they will rather leave or simply search elsewhere. However, this is definitely NOT the only important thing at work. You cannot provide flexibility if you don't have trust and proper communication. I am interested in your thoughts 👇🏻 #people #benefits #hr #remotework #flexibility #flexiblework #remotework #wfh #flexibleworking #worklifebalance #productivity #employees #management #communication #culture #opportunities #happiness

⭐️Employees Are Quitting Instead of Giving Up Working From Home 🏠 🗞'If anything, the past year has proved that lots of work can be done from anywhere, sans lengthy commutes on crowded trains or highways. Some people have moved. Others have lingering worries about the virus and vaccine-hesitant colleagues.' Have you considered this when pushing everyone to the office? 🗞' And for Twidt, there’s also the notion that some bosses, particularly those of a generation less familiar to remote work, are eager to regain tight control of their minions. “They feel like we’re not working if they can’t see us,” she said. “It’s a boomer power-play.”' I believe companies search for reasons to keep people in the offices, but usually, it doesn't work. Do you believe the communication will be better? Are you sure? Have you tried to rethink the way you communicate actually? Is it effective enough? The same comes for the management. If you don't trust your people, which is the reason why you prefer to micromanage them, the office is not what fixes your problem. Your problem is trust. Not the office or WFH option. 🗞'A May survey of 1,000 U.S. adults showed that 39% would consider quitting if their employers weren’t flexible about remote work.' ❓Would I leave my work if I was forced to go to the office? Yes. And many people think the same. #management #workfromhome #remotework #remoteworking

This is exactly what comes to my mind when checking out all the certification requirements. 😏 Actually, my first impression about certifications was that it's just about following checkpoints with zero creativity. But, I have been preparing the materials for the #AWS Migration Competency over the last month and I changed my mind. Preparing certification #documentation can be a perfect lesson: ✔️ Learn more about the organization ✔️ Learn about AWS and best practices ✔️ Implementing these principles can improve your organization's workflow and professionality Besides improving my writing skills, it taught me a lot! What are your experiences with the company certifications and #compliance? 👇🏻

📰 The Remote Culture War Has Begun, And Executives Are Pumping Out "Back To Work" Propaganda 📄 This article by Ed Zitron provides a great insight into the real perspective of "getting back to work". As I have experience from PR as well, all this makes sense to me. From my understanding of particular roles, including management, I have the same impression - that this trend of getting back to the offices is not anything else than the consolidation of power. I do not think remote work really has such an impact on cooperation. Rather, the following should be fixed in the company: - management - trust - communication If you don't master this, your offices or "culture" won't help you. 'The executive sect wants to push people back into the office and intentionally frame themselves as victims of a liberal demand for remote work, justifying the return to the office as good for a culture that they do not participate in or have to do deal with the consequences of.' 'This propaganda is coming from a management elite that feels themselves losing control of workers, which is the only reason that they had them in the office in the first place. Without the office, workers might begin to question whether they’re getting a fair deal, or evaluate whether their managers and teammates actually do anything. In the office, it’s much easier to instill company problems as a personal failing - but when you’re at home, it’s significantly easier for you as a worker to view things objectively.'

Are you listing all your jobs on LinkedIn? And your first jobs? Why not? Personally, I don't. I thought that it might doesn't look well to show that during my high school times I was working as a waitress or hostess at high-end restaurants and bars. 🤵🏻‍♀️ On the other hand, it was an excellent lesson. I worked hard. I usually had 12+ hours shifts. It improved my financial literacy. It was a tough time when I was closing the bar at 1 AM and waking up to school at 6 AM. I had responsibility for money and people at an early age. This is something I would never have if I was just studying. However, later, when I was freelancing, I was working for various clients, both long-term and short-term. This is something very hard to list on LinkedIn. I was always worried it might doesn't look good, so I just created a separate column for "freelancing" while naming a few cooperations only. However, it was another lesson of being flexible and easy to adapt. I am sure all of us have these experiences that we are not sure about whether to sell them or not. And if so, then how. I wanna hear about the experiences you do not mention on your profile. Why?👇🏻
Samuela Davidová 2021-07-28
Generalists and The Impostor Syndrome 😐 I started working back when I was 17. I learned by myself a foreign language on a native speaker level. I am still studying university while trying hard to boost my career. I am motivated, hardworking and I never give up. So, why am I underestimating myself? As you may know, I strive to boost my cybersecurity field knowledge. This itself is not an easy thing to do. However, I am a generalist. I always tried hard to have a perfect general overview. To understand a company or product as a whole. To know the consequences of everything. But it also means that I have the impression of not knowing anything good enough. This was especially hard when I tried to get some specialized role. I have a desire to go deeper into the topics. However, deep in my heart I know, that I am good at that general understanding, and that's what I love. Some people might even say "you don't know anything at all", or "you should have a focus on one thing". But what if that's not correct? I am getting to the point of simply accepting the fact I think differently about this. And see this as a strength. Why am I that sure about it? Because I made use of this in my previous jobs. This mindset was actually perfect in all the management roles I had. But also, I made use of it in the IT support role as well. I knew where to search for the answers and I could be helpful to the various team. I just never thought about it this way. This makes me think how bad the question "What are your weaknesses?" is. We don't have weaknesses, we just have a misunderstanding of our strengths. #generalista #mindset #understanding #strenghts

Don’t talk about work & life balance if your people cannot go to the beach after work while working for a company based in a country with no sea 🌊 👇🏻 That's really nice that your team members can go to the post office during working hours once a month. But it doesn't mean a work & life balance. What does it mean for me? It means I work hard when I'm at work. But it also means I can live the life I want to. I send you greetings from Cyprus 👋🏻 I prefer to recharge daily. Not only on weekends and holidays. #worklifebalance #life #happiness #travel #digitalnomad #remotework

When failure is NOT an option. Have you ever considered giving up something because it might be too time-consuming, complicated, or have you found other excuses for not doing this? Then you're lucky you could. Back when I was working in Event and Film Management, I was not searching for excuses. There was no space for this. It made me oriented on the results and options of how to deliver them. No excuses. Just ways to provide what is needed. When you master this, you go to the next level where you search for more efficient ways and create better processes. 🚀 What's the difference? 💡 ✔️ It drives you to do more and better. ✔️ You never postpone things. ✔️ You know what should be done and you accept responsibility for your steps, time, people, and budget. ✔️ You learn to respect others and their time. ✔️ You know how much every hour or minute counts. Each minute without electricity costs $$$. You cannot run away, you have to solve this. Now, not tomorrow, despite it's after 5 PM and you've been working for 18+ hours today. 😏 I don't mention my previous experiences during the interviews much. People might think they are not related to IT. However, they shaped and taught me a lot. And this mindset is something I love about myself. With this approach, I know I can really do things, no matter what. I won't give them up. No matter whether it means unexpected delivering 10 tonnes of ice on the same day, or a project for a client within a short deadline. What was the best result you ever delivered, despite it seemed impossible? 👇🏻 (Photo is two years old, back from the Event Management of 130 bartenders at the Let It Roll Festival - The World's Leading Drum & Bass Festival.) #management #mindset #project #eventmanagement #failure #failureisnotanoption

🔐 Passwords 🔐 This is an endless topic. We can discuss it for years here. The attached video provides a quick explanation of which passwords to use. ❓What passwords are you using? Randomly generated? ❓Where do you keep your passwords? Are you using a password manager? Which solution do you like the most? ❓Are you changing passwords regularly? (This can open a huge discussion. From what I have heard, this is not really recommended, because the team tends to use easier passwords.) 💡 Fortunately, in Cybersecurity, most tips are already covered. 💡 Looking for the best practices checklist? 👩🏻‍💻I thought remote cooperation is just a work condition. I was thinking about all the pros, time-saving, and own time management first. Also, I have realized that my employer saves money for the office. Cool. 💡But actually, over time I realized it's life-changing. It provides me the opportunity to work from wherever in the world and to live my dreams. If I was going to the office I could never both study and work full-time. With all that commuting, I just couldn't make it. 🚌 🌎 I was able to move to the country I wanted to explore for years. But I couldn't. I knew that it required at least a few weeks of the visit. This is something I could never afford before. I was always studying and working. I never had paid holidays. 💰 I knew that if I won't be working, I won't be making money. I was not that lucky to have parents that will pay my rent and food during my high school and university years. 🏡 It's nothing to complain about. It taught me a lot. However, now I am 25 and I live the best life I ever could. I never realized how much such a work benefit can affect my life. It's improving well-being incredibly. I understand it's not for everyone, but giving this as an optional perk can be very beneficial. 🙏🏻 Why? Happy me -> better work & efficiency -> better (company) results 🙃 Remote cooperation can be a real opportunity. Looking forward to your insights and perspectives. 👇🏻 #work #opportunity #remotecooperation #remotework

Stress vs. flexible working conditions 🤔 Before starting at IT, I was freelancing, doing more or less everything. Assisting with general tasks, doing HR, Event Management, Film Production management. Everything from budgeting to people, from logistics to stock management. I was a boss to myself working for various clients. I worked hard to be effective and efficient. Sometimes, it was really tough. I worked sometimes even for 20 hours a day, depending on the load. However, I was never worried about being late for my office. It was there, with myself. I was satisfied. Only during the events, I had to plan well, not to waste my time and of my crew. I was always very respectful about time. But the exact timing stressed me out. Back in high school, I was frightened I'll be late for the lessons. When I had morning shifts at work, I was afraid I can't make it to the office on time. I could continue here, but you got my point. 😰 With the force of habit and home-office during covid, this stress got reduced. I knew it's in my hands, my computer is next to me and that I can always make it. I felt less insecure. 🙏🏻 Now finally, I have the opportunity of both flexible time & place and it's so freeing. I have tried all the combinations, but this one works best for me. I am not worried to go to the toilet (what if I have a new chat?). I am not worried to go to buy ice cream at the shop or do anything else. 😌 I got used to that level of stress with time. But let's be honest, it's not optimal. Today, I don't have to count how many days of holidays I can take. You know that stress when you're going back? Afraid of the workload? :) I just pack my laptop and go elsewhere. Anytime. I make longer stays and discover new places like a local. No one at work notices. Why? Because it doesn't make any difference. On the contrary, I am more relaxed and recharged. 🔋 And I am more than happy to inspire others and share my experience. I am meeting more and more people interested in a more free way of living. 🕊 Were you searching for a new normal at work? I think that here's your answer. Are you wondering what benefits to offer? Think about this one (unless it's really necessary). I was rejecting the in-house offers. I am sure I'm not alone. I went through some researches, but it seems that the question of stress vs. flexibility is a very individual thing. Flexible time is mostly increasing satisfaction and is less stressful. The flexible place depends on the individuals. I am interested in you 👇🏻 #remotework #homeoffice #flexiblework #stressfree #benefits

Feeling lost? Not sure where to start when preparing for the security role (interview)? I know how you feel. I went through dozens of courses, I have my notes everywhere - in some gdocs, iPhone notes, paper... There are so many topics to cover. I barely remember half of what I was usually watching. But it was worth it. I got the general overview and understanding. And I still feel like I don't know a thing. However, the video I am sharing is providing a perfect list of the terms to learn. What to be ready for. I myself created a list of all the mentioned terms with some notes. I have decided to make a checklist with a better structure. I wanna create my own knowledge base for the review, extend it as I go. This video (and the next 'levels') is a real help to achieve this. Thank you. Amazing work, ☁️ Marek Šottl.

"Morning. Wanna play with Linux?" This question made my day. You have never seen me running that quickly out of the bed to the laptop. I was fixing droplet - a VM at Digital Ocean. Something I've never worked with. I was reading the instruction and I already wanted to text "look, I have no clue what this is about". But I didn't do it. "Let's have a look." I read it twice. All right. Let's make it. A few minutes later it's done. I made it. I almost forgot I was underestimating myself at the beginning. (Why was I doing it anyway?) I found it easy after all. "Droplet is running, well done. Thank you." :) How much I enjoy these baby steps. Lesson learned? - No need to worry. - Stop underestimating yourself. You can do it. - It's just a question of time. #linux #monday #dontgiveup #youcandoit

How much I understand the beginning of the original post. Cybersecurity is such a wide field. I am wondering about this fear of not knowing enough daily. So often, I feel lost and overwhelmed - there are so many topics to cover. You don't know where to begin. Fortunately, there are many available resources for free. Anyway, you will come across other topics or technologies you don't know yet. There are so many of these. What should be the next steps? I feel like not moving at all, but when I look back, I know I don't know much, but I am still moving ahead. It's just a question of time. On the other hand, what I really love about it - it's an incredibly meaningful field. I know why I am spending hours on it. And I won't give it up. Also, I feel the professional cybersecurity community very supportive. I am not definitely a kid who was hacking other computers when I was six. However, I believe, that enthusiasm and vision can beat it. Let's move on! My next steps will be on www.cyberdefenders.org - there are many blue-team courses free of charge. Yours? #cybersecurity
Samuela Davidová 2021-06-27
Do you know one bad thing about Cybersecurity? You have to learn so much, and it never ends. Many people in Cybersecurity suffer from imposter syndrome. You feel overwhelmed with the learning material. You do not know where to start. You think you know nothing. -> instead of going on, you are afraid and feel bad. Two days ago, I started INE's PTX course, and I feel like that. If you do not know the course, it is one of the most difficult AD/red team pentest courses on the planet. On LinkedIn, only 130 people have it. So I do not feel prepared, and I do not feel ready... If I look back to my first steps over a year ago, I had the same feeling with PTP, a different INE course. Now, all of that knowledge is pretty easy... if you did it, you may saw my name on some of those courses. If you feel bad (imposter syndrome), try to find friends with the same goal and go with them. It is way easier, and you can support each other. If you are interested in going this path with me, join me here: https://lnkd.in/ePyZimA What do you need: - An active INE subscription or an old PTX elite course - You should have eCPPT, OSCP, or a good experience with TryHackMe (maybe Throwback), HTB. - A little bit of time, maybe 2 hours a day + countless weekend hours for about 6 months or more. - Real passion for this stuff. It is painful! You will spend hundreds of hours on this course. Goal: Get this monster in 6+ months... Hint: This is not entry-level at all... Denise T., what do you think ;) #cybersecurity #ine #education

Do we really want to go back to the offices? Let's be honest. I prefer morning yoga to commute to work. I don't like spending much time on daily lunch with colleagues, adjusting my cycle accordingly - I prefer eating later than at 1 PM. I don't want to wear make-up every day and still feel good. I don't miss accidental talks in the kitchen. I love listening to music when working or being completely silent and hate when someones interrupt my deep work by talking to me. I could continue for years here. I am an extrovert, but I explored my introvert side over the last year - and I love it. I am way more productive, happier, and feeling freer. Still, I can see that there are places not offering the WFH or remote cooperation when it is not fully necessary to be on-site. It's not black and white and there are a few positives about it in terms of the cooperative creative work and you-name-it. But from most announcements, I feel rather the management wants to have the employees on their eyes or there is bad communication in the company. You fix the communication and trust and you can let the employees work freely? I truly love the environment built on trust. And that's what it's about. People who do not want to work adequately, won't be working even at the office. #takecare #wellbeing #wellbeingatwork #remotework #wfh #wfhlife #backtotheoffice

For a long time, I believed that endless savings will make me rich. At one podcast, I heard one of my ex-boss. He said that the one who is saving is never gaining anything extra. Only with the investment, you can make extra money. I had this thought for a while on my mind. I am still young with no commitments, I do not really care about money yet. However, with the investment, I had something different on my mind - ourselves. I have realized how true is this statement. If we do not invest our time, money, and energy into ourselves, we will be either the same or, as I remember from step zero of investment into innovations, we will be getting worse. But there's no time for this. Of course, we are afraid - we should save money because we may lose our job, we have to feed our family, children, ourselves, we want to stay at the same level of comfort. We don't start to do sport, because of a favorite show or we just don't know where to start. We don't have time to read that book because - find an excuse yourself. But we do not realize, that with the investment, we actually get something back. Sport comes with endorphins, amazing feeling, and confidence. In the long-term, you will look awesome too. When buying that course you want to take for long, you will also create a commitment to yourself and finish it. Then you might get a better and well-paid job because of your newly-gained knowledge. You know what I am talking about. Think about it again. It's worth it. Invest into yourself. Today. You deserve it. #invest #youmatter #grow

Every day holiday 🌴 With the rising trend of WFH cooperation, we have the opportunity to travel 365 days a year. I am personally away from my home country for the last 8 months. Currently, I am sending greetings from beautiful Sicily. Yes, working from home from the same place, without any physical contact can be very frustrating. However, anything is not black-and-white. Today, I had a beautiful morning walk in the city center to the supermarket for some food and drinks. The streets were quiet and empty. I was enjoying the vibe of the old city of Palermo, full of incredible architecture and art. I came home totally chilled. Ready to start working. Ready to start the first day in the new cooperation. Recharged. (I am really excited about the cooperation too, of course!) After work, I went for a walk to the sea, park, and downtown. How much I love exploring different places. It helps me to get inspiration and better self-awareness. I hardly run into a stereotype I hate so much. I feel alive. Please, do not judge before you see all the shades of grey. Enjoy life and let your employees enjoy it too. I hope more companies will offer remote-first cooperations as an option soon. Feel free to check some research about productivity too. Hope that’s the future - with good communication only, of course. How do you handle the communication with your employees that work from home? What is your current experience with it? #inspiration #remotework #wfh #workingfromhome #workfromhome #travel #communication #productivity #recharge

Finally, universities are getting more practical. Agree? 👩🏻‍🎓 This is not a general rule and will definitely depend on the university. Some subjects are strictly academic and not very useful, rather a subject about a subject. Some are learning just the theoretical principles about the industry, but you cannot try it hands-on. Finally, from my perspective, there is growing space for real experience, following the current trends, adjusting the plan to follow the industry up-to-date. This is amazing. 👩🏻‍💻I've just spent an amazing Security week at my university Prague University of Economics and Business (University of Economics, Prague). Education in public universities is free of charge here. The quality is really good too and it's still rising from my perspective. The subjects you choose partly depend on you giving you a little freedom. And it was definitely a great choice to enroll in Security week with a guest professor Mr. Michael Sonntag from the Institute of Networks and Security from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. Top topics we discussed: ✔️ Using Nmap, Tor, and Wireshark ✔️ Digital Forensics (this one was really interesting for me!) ✔️ Security legal perspective in the EU ✔️ Virtualization, Secure Enclave ✔️ Cloud Security And many more. Amazing how much you can learn in a week. It's also a great reminder that I am still at the very beginning, it feels never-ending, but the baby steps are taking me where I want. Keep going! What do/did you love about your studies? What opportunities did it bring you? #education #cybersecurity #guestlecture #virtualization #cloudsecurity

I hate job titles. “Despite working just as IT support, you were really seen and heard. You had an impact on the product and you had a great understanding of it.” When I was leaving, I got great feedback. I loved the job because of the freedom and opportunity to have an impact, despite I was a beginner, learning as I went and I often said that my job stands at a similar position as a cleaner's does 😏 What else do you imagine when one says that is working as support? However, those who know me well know, that I always went the way from the root. It provides an awesome understanding and overview. I know that the office running without a cleaner wouldn’t work great too long. We sometimes forget that the gardener keeps our environment beautiful and inspiring. When shopping, we see just the final product, and the whole production is a black box for us. It’s not. Underestimating someone’s capabilities just because we see them in the current position is not fair. Many people lost their job now because of the covid. They need to feed their family. They might be waiting for a better opportunity, but in the meanwhile, they rather went for the first best-paid option, because of their financial needs. Maybe, they just need time to rethink what they want next. Maybe, they went through burnout and they need to recharge mentally. Maybe, they're at the beginning of their way. Don’t judge it. The potential of people is huge. It might be endless once they understand it. Once they realize what they want to do. Once they get an opportunity. Despite getting higher, stay humble. Always. We’re all human and we all started somewhere.   Your favorite ex-support Sam is on her way towards security too. Remotely from the Canaries. Sending greetings to the offices 🙃 #potential #beginnings #people #jobtitles

❌ Never ask ‘Are you 100% sure about switching the field?’ ❌ If someone decides to go for a new field, he's 100% sure about it. He knows it’s time to go, time for a change. He has taken all the courage to take the next step. He knows what it means and that it won’t be easy at all, but he has a strong desire and trust in himself. He can make it, but he knows the price. It won't be easy.  🚀Beginning a career in a new field: 📌Is about starting all over again no matter how far you were, whom you managed, what you achieved. 📌Is about ignoring your ego. You gotta ask, you gotta admit that you don’t know, you feel uncertainty, you gotta improvise and you make mistakes over and over again. You learn. 📌Is about moments when you want to give up but you don’t. It's about reminding yourself that you're at the beginning, taking the baby steps towards your goal. Once you decide, you know that you won't make the step back, even though it would be so easy. Yes, it might be a good plan B. You can always come back. However, you never do it. Why? Because you know well that even though you're at the very beginning, you’re on your way higher. You got a vision. And with enough desire, you can reach anything you want. And you will. If someone comes to you and tells you that he wants to change the field, encourage and believe in him. Because he can make it. 💪🏻 #empathy #motivation #careerchange #bekind #everythingispossible

I left my work a week ago. Yeah, I thought the same in the first days: I won't find anything now. It's covid time. No one will hire me. Maybe, I'd done better if I stayed. I became sad about leaving the company. You get used to it. I felt like when you're leaving the partner you like, but you know it's time to move on. First, I haven't seen it bright at all. I was sending my CVs to companies around the world that offered remote positions. It could be obvious to me that it won't be easy. Then, I started sharing my will to change the field to cybersecurity with the Czech companies. I have realized, that at least, it's a perfect starting point. And wow - I have a really high response rate. I understood that it would take some time, but no need to rush. Sit back. Think about what you really want now and what's the goal. No, I do not want to start a different position "just to have a job." Instead, I will stick to the plan: ☑️Invest my free time into studying. ☑️Find relevant courses and create a plan and schedule how I want to achieve them. ☑️Search for relevant opportunities only. Maybe, you don't see the sun today, but it's there - hidden, behind the clouds. That's all right. Take your time, be patient. It will come tomorrow. Have an amazing day, and stay motivated!

Remote cooperation ✈️ Finally, something big happened over the last year. Do you even remember the approach of people when you said you had a home office before it became cool during COVID 19? When I proposed the HO cooperation before, I felt like: - Aha, you wanna work from home to not doing anything. - Zero trust to the employees. - People "work from home" to go shopping. Not sure how it worked when people had a HO once a few weeks. However, since most of us had to stay at home for months, people (finally) understood that this approach was false. When you work from home every day, you don't go to the post office or shop. You want to complete your tasks and finish your work. You work hard to motivate yourself to accomplish everything well and on time. You search for resources to help you with time management. You appreciate every motivation from your workplace and a good communication experience. Working remotely is not doing anything. It means pushing oneself hard to work better, to learn, and work on our will. It's accepting responsibility. More than anything else, I believe this made me stronger and better. Besides, I can work from wherever in the world and save time that I would spend commuting. Don't forget that if someone is lazy, he might be lazy even when on-site.

Goodbye, PR. I believe that one of the best things we can do is to realize when we got enough. Life is too short to stand at the same place for too long. Although the decision wasn't easy - I love the team and the work itself, I understood I need to evolve and grow in the right direction. In my direction. After more than three years in Public Relations, I will be writing my last press releases in the upcoming weeks, providing training to my junior colleague, and will finally gain more time and capacity to learn. I understood it's the right time to invest more into my career growth. I am not sure where it all takes me, but I'd love to improve my cybersecurity and Linux knowledge for now. I realize how little I know, but it's fine - that's all a question of time and learning. I believe that if we have a true will, we can do anything we want to. However, it's obvious that if I can spend on cybersecurity 40 h + weekly, it will get better than when I search this time at the end of the day, tired. I will miss the marketing thinking, the events, and understanding how we can change public opinion through the news. On the other side, it shaped me and changed me and my understanding anyway. I love to broaden the horizons of what we know. What's next? 🚀 #jobsearching #remote

🎉Feedback 🙏🏻 It is so valuable when we get feedback, both the good and bad. Have someone served you well? Tell it to them. 📈 💡It's a great reminder of why we're all doing it. 💡It's a great reminder that we're on our way. 💡It's a great reminder that we're doing great. And we'll improve to do even better. When doing the little steps every day, we sometimes forget to self-reflect and to realize how long do we go already. 🚀 #selfreflection #selfawareness #feedbackmatters

When asked about how she manages to balance her work and travel life, Samuela Davidova said, “I usually create a list of tasks for the day, week, and month and then follow that. However, with online work, I am not stuck in one place -- I can simply take my work to another city. My favorite place? I cannot name one, but I love Provence in the South of France, Kiev which is a surprisingly very nice city, and Batumi which is at the seaside in Georgia.” #IT #publicrelations #tips

📈Cybersecurity-thinking So excited we have the guest lectures at school! Today, we had a presentation about IT security from Corpus Solutions a.s. by Tomáš Přibyl with experience since 1996. It is so inspiring to listen to such skilled speakers who have years of experience, making it a real motivation to keep improving in the cybersecurity field. Core ideas: 📈The cybersecurity business is growing exponentially, despite the current situation in most fields. 👩🏻‍💻Implementing security in the development process is less expensive since you won't avoid it later. 👩🏻‍🏫Unfortunately, companies and individuals usually learn just by experience. 💰Business owners should ask for enough money for the Security Budget. Usually, it's not sufficient but needed. It's not just about the technical stuff, but business too. 💆🏻‍♀️It takes minutes to infiltrate the goal but months to detect the infiltration. 👩🏻‍💼The only privilege the company has compared to the attacker - they know the environment. However, most companies are unable to describe their infrastructure properly. 🕒The average lifecycle of a vulnerability is only three months. 👽If you want to protect your company, you should understand the attackers. I wish you all a lot of motivation this week! 💡 #cybersecurity #security

👩🏻‍🎓Back to school A new semester begins today. And, surprisingly, I cannot wait. 👀 🏫I think rule number one is to find a specialization that we are interested in. This semester, several fascinating and practical subjects await me: from Data Mining and its Business Application, through the continuing course of Artificial Intelligence or Information Security Management to the Theory of Coding and Cryptography. Wow! 🚀 💪🏻It won't be easy to make while having a lot of work. However, I feel seriously motivated to make this challenge. I am always honestly excited about new knowledge. 💡When I decided to continue my studies at Information Management under the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, I had a clear vision: boost my knowledge in these two years of working on the Engineer's degree. I feel like being really on my way. It's so enriching to know that you live what you want to. And, how to do so? Follow your dreams and make decisions. Today, not tomorrow. 📈 #education # #engineer #informationsecurity #university #workandstudy #cryptography #ai

🔋Recharge.💆🏻‍♀️ 👩🏻‍💻I believed for a long time that if I am available for my work 24/7, it is more appreciated. But it's not true. Being distracted several times during the day means we think about our work almost all day. But how long can we go this way? A few months? A year? More and more, I aim for more consistency, preferring to continue on a strong base. 📱It's been about a year since I have all the notifications turned off. I get online only when I choose to. If I notice I am unable to control it, I leave social media for a few weeks. It is incredibly refreshing. Also, it makes you realize how much we're overusing these tools and how much time we spend on our phones. 💆🏻‍♀️Before every shift, I usually take a walk, meditate for a while, and read a book. Even a 20-minute walk and 5 minutes of meditation force you to slow down and re-think. And, here you go - ready for your work: focused and clear. On my day off, I try to get out to nature, discover the country a bit and forget about everything, just being present in the moment. 📈The harder I work, the more I need to recharge completely. And, the effect is seen - the more productive, present, and motivated I become. Do you have any similar routines? ✈️ P.S. I send you greetings from the pre-work walk on the seaside.

✈️A different perspective👩🏻‍💻 🏡In the current situation, the place and time lost their meaning. The home office gets a new dimension if we understand that it can be done either in our living room or on the beach. In November, I packed my things and took a plane to Tbilisi. I wanted to come here for years. Last year I understood that it's actually perfect timing - we all are sitting at home. As no one really knows how long the situation will last, I left my flat in Prague and found a long-term one here in Georgia. Even though I am 2500 km away from my school and the offices of both my jobs, nothing has really changed, and my colleagues didn't really notice a difference. But I did.🏞 🌄Different culture, food, currency, mentality, language, and the surrounding streets of home. I enjoy exploring the unknown places, little discoveries, and getting new perspectives for both life and work. The new little details that ruin the routine keep me awake. It helps me to see what I haven't noticed for weeks. And voilá, how about doing things differently? 💡Just because we're doing anything the same way for months or years doesn't mean we're doing it the best way. Can we find a better solution today? #homeoffice #perspective #travel #covidtravel #ideas #stayawake

✅I went through the Essentials of Cybersecurity course by the University of Washington on edX. 👩🏻‍🎓This course provides a brief essential overview with an entry knowledge base to understand the complexity of cybersecurity. I believe the course approach is perfectly suitable for the managers who might get in touch with the security at their work or future managers. It is a perfect reminder of the incredible complexity of the topic. Also, I must say that this course motivated me to do my best to boost the educational level of cybersecurity. I am very interested in it for a long time, but with school and two jobs, I don't have enough time to improve the knowledge. Barbara Endicott-Popovsky from UWashingtonX is a really fantastic speaker. Thank you for the inspiration! 🙏🏻Once again, I am grateful for all the opportunities we have nowadays. A free online education that is available anywhere and anytime is so enriching. I have to say that these courses are becoming a bit addicting.🤓 #education #cybersecurity #opportunities #security #inspiration #work #freetime #interests

🥳It's been three years of my career in Public Relations.🤓 I remember starting with the never-ending media monitoring for the clients. Since that, I did dozens of interviews, visited several events, and wrote hundreds of press releases. I love the feeling of having some significant outputs in media and thinking about the best possible strategy to make our clients visible. 👩🏻‍💼Working at a small agency has multiple advantages: 📌 I learned more things in a shorter time and understood further consequences. 📌 We trust each other, and we are pretty flexible when it comes to place and time. 📌 My responsibilities were growing faster. 👵🏻It was my first official "office job," and we became a great team and friends with my colleagues. I am grateful for this opportunity. That's why I still keep PR as my side-job. This waiting is long. However, I believe we'll soon have a chance to see each other at some beautiful event and drink champagne together again. 🥂 #publicrelations #media #celebration #events #team #marketing #pr

👩🏻‍🎓I love to get the general overview - to understand all the causes and the consequences. It helps me to decide better, whether in real-life or at work. But since everything evolves all the time, it requires to keep learning to stay up-to-date and well-informed.📚 And, that's what my position as the IT support provides me. I find it a perfect entry position to understand how it all works, what each department does, and how everything is connected. At work, I learn something new every day.📈 👩🏻‍💻But that's not all. I want to go beyond and more in-depth. I run into edX, which provides free-of-charge courses from respected universities from all around the world. 🗝As education is the top priority for me, I do my best to find enough time for it in my free time as well. And, voilá, I have just finished the Introduction to Networking course from the New York University. It provides a perfect insight into the Networking, altogether with a short introduction to the Network Security I'm very interested in. 🙏🏻We have so many opportunities nowadays! It gets hard just not to get lost among them. But with proper prioritization and goal-setting, it goes well.
