The occasion marked the inauguration of the International Art & Calligraphy Festival, held at this historic institution in Hyderabad, India. The Salar Jung Museum is globally recognised as the largest one-man collection of antiques in the world. Salar Jung III personally assembled an extraordinary collection of over 43,000 artefacts and 50,000 books and manuscripts, including rare furniture from the eras of King Louis XIV and Napoleon Bonaparte. Among its most prized masterpieces are the 19th-century marble sculpture “Veiled Rebecca” and the iconic double statue “Mephistopheles and Margaretta.” For His Excellency, the museum holds deep personal significance — its history and legends were the bedtime stories of his childhood, lovingly narrated by his grandmother. A special, dedicated workshop was also organized at the Miniplex theatre screen, focusing on awareness and action against sexual harassment and in support of acid attack survivors—reflecting a strong commitment to social responsibility.
